Goldfrapp - ”Yellow Halo”
Ok, so I get that my music taste is generally terrible, and nine times out of ten I’m listening to some of the dumbest mainstream pop there is (haters can go shave their backs now, btw), but this song is like really really really good forrealz, you guys. I don’t get why Goldfrapp isn’t more popular - I’m assuming it’s because they’re English, and because Alison Goldfrapp is 45, and obviously a woman that old can’t possibly be relevant or interesting because she basically died ten years ago, right? - but really, this band should be your everything. I dunno, I just think this song is… wow, and that crowd noise/thank you at the end is perfect (although apparently it’s been left off the album version, but that version has an extra verse instead, so it all evens out), and this video was shot on an iPhone, and it’s cuh-razy that, like, I use my iPhone’s camera to take pictures of pizza boxes on the street, and then there are people making stuff like this.
Not to sound like a walking ad for Goldfrapp (lolz, 2 late), but if that mess of a paragraph convinced you to ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-check them out, their greatest hits album comes out on Tuesday.
